Our Agency contracted with Morel Martin & Assoc. to provide leadership training (“Re-invent Your Leadership”) to all management staff in our office. The individual successes from this learning lead us to expand the training as a pilot project to front line staff on 6 teams.
Additional training (“Advanced Leadership and Coaching”) was then provided to 20 participants to enable them to realize their full potential and become “coaches” in the workplace.
The objective was to maximize team productivity and enable individuals to achieve or exceed CRA goals.
This training had many positive results for the participants and our office. Individuals were able to change behaviour and thinking that had limited them from achieving their full potential. Teams became stronger as they began to better understand themselves and others. Individuals helped each other with their work/life challenges, which has contributed to a more positive and supportive work environment.
Ginette Morel’s facilitation style enabled participants to be open to change and self-reflection. Participants were encouraged to set goals and believe in themselves. Excellent coaching and support was provided to participants on an ongoing basis to enable them to achieve their goals. Ginette was very focused and dedicated to our individual/organizational learning needs and made a positive impact on our office.

Ms. Ginette Morel and Mr. Peter Griffith delivered 2 workshops on Coaching and Leadership for the Department of National Defence (DND) at the National Leadership Workshop in Laval (Quebec) on February 26th , 2002.
Ms. Morel and Mr. Griffiths engaged participants to consider becoming new observers in order to create the future they say they want. Participants shared provocative ideas and expanded upon what it is to create a culture of commitment and invent the future. They participated in a dialogue with the session leaders and were asked to challenge their beliefs about what is and is not possible. Their workshop was well lead and did bring thinking to the participants.
A Curriculum of Leadership Development was created following the National Leadership Workshop. A three year workplan was established. DND realized through Coaching and Leadership the importance of a coaching program for our department and is currently studying the feasibility of such a program. The design and implementation of a coaching program should be achieved in 2003-2004 depending on the results of the feasibility study.
